Arrastão Beach is located in the neighborhood of the same name, on Avenida Doutor Manoel Hipólito do Rêgo (Rio-Santos), approximately 3.5 km from the Historic Center of São Sebastião, between Pontal da Cruz to the south and the São Francisco neighborhood to the north. Access is via the Rio-Santos highway and parking must be done on the surrounding streets following signage, as there is no designated parking area on the beach. The view faces directly onto the São Sebastião channel, maintaining the panoramic character of the municipality's channel-front beaches. The sandy stretch is wide, flat and gently sloping, with fine, white, fluffy sand in the dry areas, becoming more compact near the waterline. The sea is shallow and very calm, without significant waves, which makes the beach especially suitable for families with small children and for water sports such as stand-up paddle. The width of the dry sand allows different sporting activities to take place simultaneously without crowding. The main sporting highlight of the beach is the four fixed beach tennis nets, with regular lessons offered on site for beginners and more advanced players, making Arrastão one of the main hubs for the sport on the northern coast. The sand is also intensively used for volleyball, footvolley and beach running. Infrastructure includes beach carts, street vendors, bars and restaurants in the immediate surroundings, as well as a marina with a dock for small boats. At New Year's Eve, Arrastão hosts one of the municipality's largest fireworks displays, drawing residents and tourists to the turn of the year. The neighborhood around the beach has a mixed profile: vacation homes coexist with permanent residences, local commerce and hotels. Before becoming an urbanized neighborhood, this stretch of shoreline was a daily scene of arrastão fishing, with men, women and children collectively pulling the nets from the beach — a scene that belongs to the living memory of the oldest residents.
