Overview
At the southern extremity, it stands out for its wide strip of dark, compact sand and calm sea. It is about 5 km long in a rustic, preserved setting ideal for sports.
Located on the border with Bertioga, at the southern tip of the municipality, this beach is one of the most extensive and versatile in the region. The stretch within São Sebastião’s territory is around 5 km long and is characterized by a wide, dark and very compact strip of sand (firm sand), making it perfect for walks, running and cycling. The sea is open but extremely shallow and has gentle waves most of the time, ensuring safety for families with children and the elderly. Unlike the neighboring side, the local stretch is more rustic and preserved, with native sandbank vegetation and little commercial infrastructure directly on the sand, keeping a tranquil atmosphere even in high season. Nearby is the Aldeia Indígena Rio Silveiras, which offers a rich cultural experience. Praia da Boraceia is surrounded by mountain views and abundant greenery. Even being very close to the highway, Boraceia remains preserved. On the beach there are no large buildings and service options are almost always small stalls on the sand. Ideal for those who do not like bustle and prefer beaches with less infrastructure.
