Maracujá Islet in São Sebastião is a small island virtually unknown to the general public, located opposite the Ypautiba Sector — the stretch of coastline between Juréia Beach and Boraceia on the municipality's South Coast, away from the bustle of more popular beaches.

A "Secret" for Surfers
The name gained fame among wave enthusiasts when Waves revealed that the place hides a surf break called a "secret" — described as "the forbidden fruits of Maracujá Islet." When a strong east swell reaches the coast, the reefs around the island generate long, powerful waves that rarely appear in public records. Names such as Thiago Camarão, Robson Santos, Kauê Germano and Marcio Grilo are part of expeditions organized by the Maresias Crew to surf this isolated peak.

Paddling and Adventure
For those who prefer paddling to surfing, Maracujá Islet is a destination for ocean kayaking expeditions that depart at dawn from Juréia Beach — the classic goal is to reach the island offshore to watch the sunrise, with an unobstructed horizon and the Atlantic Forest as a backdrop. The crossing requires planning and favorable sea conditions, and is recommended only for experienced practitioners.

Location and Access
The island lies within the limits of the North Coast Marine APA (APAM-LN), in an area classified as ZUBE/ZPGBio (Biodiversity Protection Zone), which implies usage restrictions and regulated access. There is no visitor infrastructure, pier or regular boat service — access is exclusively by private vessel or kayak, always depending on sea conditions.
