Known as Praia do Saco or Praia dos Pescadores, this small cove is nestled in the rocky shore between Maresias and Paúba, in a recessed, sheltered section of the coastline. The main access is via the Paúba–Maresias trail or from the left corner of Maresias, crossing the river and following a path of rocks and a short trail along the slopes; it is also possible to arrive from the Paúba side or by boat tours. The route is considered easy, suitable even for families with children, provided appropriate footwear is used because of the rocks. The beach has a narrow strip of light sand, surrounded by rocks and the Atlantic Forest, creating an intimate and extremely photogenic setting. The waters are transparent and usually calm, ideal for a relaxing swim, floating with inner tubes and snorkeling, with good visibility to observe schools of fish and marine life among the rocks. Being more secluded than Maresias, the atmosphere is one of complete tranquility, with the predominant sounds being the waves and nature. Locally, the place is also called Praia dos Pescadores, as it is a traditional stop for small artisanal fishing boats and nearby caiçara shacks, which use the sheltered cove as a support area. The absence of kiosks and structured commerce reinforces its character as a preserved natural refuge; guides therefore recommend bringing water, light snacks and a bag to collect all trash on the return, keeping the place clean and quiet. Along the route between Maresias and Paúba, natural viewpoints offer wide views of the two main beaches, of Praia do Saco itself and of the mountain line that runs along the coast, making the outing a sought-after combination of panoramic trail + hidden beach for those who enjoy hiking and photographing landscapes.
